Commercial Installation and Support Technicians are critical to delivering on i3's promise of the world's most advanced internet, television, and voice services to business customers. Businesses rely on i3 to run their businesses. Commercial Installation & Support Technicians focus primarily on new installations of our cable television and broadband services. Technicians represent i3 every day to our customers at their place of business, performing a variety of duties including installation, changes of service, additional outlet installation, disconnection of service, payment collection, and any special requests customers may have regarding the installation or use of services.

• Perform site visits to come up with an installation plan for commercial buildings.
• Make drop installations (exterior and interior) complete from tap to antenna terminals on customer equipment in business settings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects; add outlets; install and/or removes converters; perform upgrades and downgrades of service.
• Use connectors, fasteners, and wire, and uses customary CATV hand and power tools in performance of job duties.
• Installation of i3 VOIP systems.
• Read signal levels through use of field strength meter; adds and subtracts levels in installation problems; installs connectors on different types of drop cable; maintains proper clearances; installs tap-off devices.
• Properly use, store and maintain a VOM or DMM to check for "open" or "short" online as well as AC and DC voltages.
• Read general drop system layouts from blueprints.
• Inform customers of FCC Rules and company policies.
• Complete appropriate paperwork / system logs as required and updates tickets in I3’s ticketing system.
• Perform vehicle upkeep and maintenance to keep company vehicles clean, fueled and in good working order, reports problems promptly.
• Keep vehicle stocked with items needed for any type of installation that might be required.
• Assist other team members or perform other duties including residential installations and commercial and residential support as customer demand dictates.

• Must be available to work occasional overtime and some nights (as needed).
• Willing to train, accept feedback, and learn the job according to i3 standards.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education/Experience:

• No prior experience is necessary, however any demonstrated interest or aptitude for hands-on work, physical work, or working with cable or electrical components is preferred.
• Prior telephone, cable, or electrical experience is preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and the ability to pass a criminal background check.

• Must be able to work outdoors, and in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to work with connectors, fasteners, wire and hand tools.
• Visual acuity, especially when working with small components at a close visual range.
• Ability and comfort to works within limited confines, such as crawl spaces and attics.
• Ability to climb ladders or work from high spaces with or without the assistance of a bucket truck, while adhering to safety rules/regulations and with proper rigging/climbing equipment.
