American Polymer Company (APC) is a leading provider and manufacturer of underground vaults and products supporting utility infrastructure. Our products serve many industries and applications including water utility, irrigation, telecommunications, electrical, gas and other industrial applications. We manufacture products via traditional open pour precast, thermoplastic, thermoset, and other processes.

Logistics Manager is responsible for the on-time and cost-effective outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries. They will manage and monitor all freight carriers. The logistics manager will develop specific processes for continuous improvement and create measurable metrics for prolonged growth.

To be successful as a logistics manager, you should be an independent thinker and keen problem-solver. Outstanding logistics managers can diagnose problems, train staff, and provide effective recommendations.

Logistics Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organize, and maintain shipping procedures from pick to pack to ship on all outgoing orders.
  • Work with broader team to ensure on-time shipments.
  • Maintain current carriers, onboard new ones where needed, and drive down overall shipping costs.
  • Manage accurate inventory counts, work with purchasing to ensure viable levels.
  • Coordinate outgoing and ingoing transportation at safe and efficient volumes.
  • Team with production to ensure optimal packaging for all sold products.
  • Follow and develop safety procedures for plant traffic, drivers, visitors, and employees.

Logistics Manager Requirements:

  • Experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Experience in product manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products
  • Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
