Principal Associate, Graphic And Motion Designer

Capital One's Corporate Communications team is looking for an experienced Principal Associate, Graphic Designer/Motion Graphics Designer to bring dynamic visual stories to life across digital and video platforms. You'll play a key role in creating engaging visual content for various types of communication and know how to partner with other creatives to define the work and to deliver the end product.

What You'll Do

• Design compelling graphics for digital and print formats.
• Create motion graphics and animated content for video.
• Collaborate with creative design and video teams to concept and execute visual assets.
• Translate communication goals into high-quality visual outputs.
• Stay current with design trends, animation techniques, and new tools.
• Partner with Communicators and other Creatives to define intent, brief teams, and deliver effective visual communications.
• Use data insights to inform creative decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Present visual concepts and influence with a clear and compelling style.
• Mentor and build expertise in graphic or motion design with peers and team members.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading creative projects across cross-functional teams.
• At least 3 years in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator or After Effects)

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
• Basic knowledge of Generative AI Video Tools (i.e. Midjourney, Runway, Sora, Eleven GoogleVeo 3, Flow, Google Vids).
• Portfolio showcasing a mix of static and motion design work.
• Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Cinema 4D and/or Blender for 3D motion design and animation.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $93,400 - $106,600 for Principal Communications Assoc

Richmond, VA: $93,400 - $106,600 for Principal Communications Assoc

New York, NY: $112,000 - $127,800 for Principal Communications Assoc

McLean, VA: $102,700 - $117,200 for Principal Communications Assoc

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
