STAGEHAND (Full-Time / Part-Time / Summer / Seasonal)

Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event management and production company. We produce some of the largest festivals and live events in the region, in addition to numerous private, corporate, and community events. We provide our clients with support from a full-service, in-house Production Department that provides technical equipment including concert audio, lighting, truss, and rigging, as well as the largest fleet of Stageline Mobile Stages on the East Coast. Our Creative Department provides exceptional expertise in festival production, event planning, brand activations, and fine art installation.

We are seeking stagehands to work with us throughout the summer festival season and beyond. This work includes assisting technicians in the audio, lighting, and staging disciplines as they set up, operate, and tear down equipment for shows, events, and festivals. Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Assist technical leads as they load in and load out for shows, events, and festivals.
  • Ability to follow directions and ask clarifying questions.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include long hours and irregular times, including weekends, nights, and some holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to event sites throughout the area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in theater, events, concerts, or other production environments.
  • Knowledge of best practices in packing technical equipment into box trucks.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of production cabling, and best practices in cable wrapping.

Work Setting & Physical Exertion:

  • Position requires regular exposure to outdoor elements and loud noise.
  • Position requires the use of basic hand tools and electrical tools.
  • Position works with electrical components.
  • Incumbent will be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Incumbent will be required to travel to work sites as needed.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Incumbent must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and climb stairs

This position provides a competitive pay rate of $18 per hour, with the opportunity for candidates with previous experience, higher-level technical skills, and certifications to be considered for higher rates.
