About the Role
The Company is seeking a Consumer Lending Compliance Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be the regulatory compliance subject matter expert and the first line of defense for consumer lending regulatory compliance. This role involves working closely with the SVP of Consumer Lending and department managers to ensure that processes and controls are in place to comply with regulations such as UDAAP, Fair Lending, and the Community Reinvestment Act. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, creating and executing compliance monitoring and testing plans, and overseeing the remediation of any identified compliance issues. Additionally, the role includes serving as a subject matter expert for consumer lending compliance, providing guidance on regulatory matters, and developing and delivering compliance training. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor’s degree, at least 8 years' of regulatory compliance experience or equivalent banking experience, and a thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations. A Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to analyze data and make recommendations, and experience in dealing with examiners, auditors, and front-line associates. The role requires a proactive approach to staying informed about the regulatory environment and a commitment to ongoing education. The Compliance Officer will also be involved in special projects and must be a team player with the ability to travel as needed.
