Perplexity is seeking a Developer Experience Engineer (DevEx) to join our small team in revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building and optimizing the work environment for fellow developers. The ideal candidate should have experience with build systems, containerization solutions, continuous integration, testing, code editors, and infrastructure. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain local and remote developer environments Maintain and optimize the CI/CD environment Optimize developer workflows to enable them to ship safely and quickly Build and maintain testing environments Own the developer onboarding flow Analyze, debug, and resolve complex developer environment issues Qualifications Strong experience with macOS and Linux development environments Proficiency with Bash, Python, and Typescript Experience working with containers and optimizing builds Familiarity with build tools such as webpack, babel, and bazel Familiarity with package installation tools such as pnpm and poetry Experience with testing tools such as pytest, Playwright, and jest Experience with linting tools such as ESLint, prettier, ruff, mypy Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 4+ years of industry experience Our cash compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000.
