Job Description

Overview An Emergency Department and Field-based Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) works under the guidance and oversight of an emergency department physician / medical control and is responsible for providing emergency medical care to individuals in need. This role will work within the emergency department as necessary performing a variety of patient care roles as required, and within the field providing emergency pre-hospital care including patient assessment, administration of basic medical treatments, documentation, and proper hand-off to transporting agencies while ensuring patient safety and well-being. EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Expected work hours: 1st / 2nd shift; weekdays / weekends Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical care in various environments. Patient Assessment: Evaluate patient conditions by taking vital signs, conducting basic medical examinations, and determining the appropriate course of action. Medical Treatment: Administer first aid, CPR, oxygen therapy, wound care, bleeding control, splinting, and other basic life support (BLS) interventions. Communication: Relay critical patient information to paramedics, hospital staff, and emergency dispatchers. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure medical equipment, supplies, and ambulances are clean, stocked, and in working order. Documentation: Accurately complete patient care reports and maintain records in compliance with regulations. Public Safety & Education: Assist in educating the community on emergency response and first aid as needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Current EMT certification in good standing in the state of New York. Current AHA BLS certification card National Incident Management Service (NIMS) 100, 700 and 800 course completion certification. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an EMT in good standing. Physical Requirements: Willing and able to travel to site locations Able to lift up to 150 pounds from bent / kneeling position Expectation for All Employees : Demonstrate knowledge of and conduct himself/herself in conformity with the CH Compliance Assurance Program and Standards of Conduct. This will include reporting any suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of policy to the appropriate management or reporting mechanism. Posted Salary Range USD $25.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
